Commencement Ceremony

No tickets or reservations are required, and there is no limit to the number of family members or guests who wish to attend.

All graduate students completing their masters, engineers or doctoral degrees who plan to walk and have their names read during the ceremony MUST register to participate by June 1. Currently enrolled students should register within the Graduate Degree Progress (GDP) link on REGIS. Students who no longer have access to REGIS and did not complete the marching information portion of GDP should complete the survey to register. After June 1, please contact the Registrar's Office by email or by phone at 626-395-6346.

Please note that the ceremony is held on Beckman Mall in the direct sun, and the weather can be hot. You may want to bring a hat or wear sunscreen. In the unlikely event of a major rainstorm, the event will be moved inside.

Parking is available in lots and structures throughout campus at no charge. Parking limits on surrounding streets are lifted on Friday.

Water coolers will be available along the Beckman Mall during the exercises. For other refreshments, please go to the Café at Broad, Chandler Dining Hall, or the Red Door Café.

Flowers will be available for purchase this year from The Commencement Group. You can pre-order an arrangement, then pick it up on site at the Information Booth tent before the ceremony begins. Flowers will also be available for sale at the ceremony at the same prices, but the availability of colors and size of bouquets cannot be guaranteed. As a reminder, students cannot process with a bouquet, but you will have the opportunity to present the gift following the ceremony.

The ceremony will be live-streamed on the home page of this site and a DVD of the ceremony is also available for purchase.
