Bounded-confidence models for network extensions
Michelle Feng, Postdoctoral Scholar, Computing and Mathematical Science, Caltech,

In this talk, I will discuss several extensions to bounded-confidence models, as well as preliminary results on their behaviors. I will give a brief introduction to bounded-confidence and its applications before introducing extensions to multilayer networks, hypergraphs, and adaptive networks. I will present numerical simulations on these various network extensions, describing differences in behavior between these bounded-confidence models and traditional ones. I will also discuss some theoretical results concerning convergence behaviors of the extended model. This talk will be aimed at a general computational audience, assuming no prior familiarity with bounded-confidence or opinion dynamics.
