Have you ever thought about learning to fly?
Did you know that Caltech and JPL have a flying club with 130 members and 9 airplanes and that some of our former members have become astronauts?
Did you know that there is a "general aviation" airport in El Monte, only 6 miles southeast of Campus?
Did you know that a Pilot Ground School is being offered at Caltech, starting this fall?
Would you just like to have some food, look at airplanes and talk to pilots on a pleasant Sunday afternoon?

The Aero Association of Caltech (aka Caltech/JPL Flying Club) is having it's annual Fabulous Fall Flying Fair on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the El Monte airport from 12 noon to 5 PM. This is a great event where you can see and touch a plane, take a scenic airplane ride over campus, talk to pilots and instructors from the club, and enjoy free food and drink.

Free flights will be available on a first come, first served basis, with priority given to members of the Caltech/JPL community (students, faculty, staff, contractors, retirees, and alumni); second priority will be given to family members. To reserve your spot(s), please go to http://picnic.aacit.aero. For Caltech students without a car, we will also have transportation available between Campus and the El Monte airport.
