Meet the JPL professionals who went from searching for signs of life on Mars to saving lives on Earth. In just 37 days, they designed a ventilator for COVID-19 patients who were quickly lacking access to this life-saving device. In this exclusive panel discussion, learn more about VITAL (short for Ventilator Intervention Technology Accessible Locally). Then, discover how a group of innovators and space dreamers overcame telecommuting challenges, lack of medical engineering expertise, and FDA approval to license VITAL to companies around the world.

Sarah Hovsepian, JPL project manager, will moderate the discussion with Leon Alkalai, JPL Fellow, and Roger Gibbs, JPL Deputy Director of the Engineering and Science Directorate. The Caltech Associates is pleased to offer this presentation in partnership with the Caltech Management Association, an organization that brings together employees from Caltech and JPL.
