Re: Expanded eligibility for March 19 Campus Vaccine Clinic—Sign Up Today

On Monday, Los Angeles County expanded its vaccine eligibility pool to include individuals aged 16 to 64 with underlying health conditions and disabilities. In accordance with this change, the Institute is inviting members of the Caltech community who qualify under this expanded categorization to sign up through this link for Caltech's on-campus clinic to be held on Friday, March 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The clinic, offered in partnership with Vons Pharmacy, is dedicated to eligible members of the Caltech community (campus and JPL).

Individuals who qualify for a COVID-19 vaccine due to a medical condition will be asked during the registration process to attest that they have a high-risk medical condition or disability, although they will not be asked to disclose the specific condition. Please note that the state recommends that individuals who meet these eligibility requirements consult with their healthcare provider about available appointments first and address any questions or concerns related to getting the vaccine before seeking it elsewhere. (Please see the L.A. County Department of Public Health's website for a complete list of qualifying conditions.)

Spaces are limited, so please schedule your appointment immediately through the Vons Pharmacy system. Vaccines (Pfizer) will be provided by appointment only. Although the clinic is free to participants, we ask that you bring a printed copy of your health insurance card. All eligible invitees also will be asked to provide photo identification when they check-in.

Please do not share this invitation link. Doing so will only inhibit other eligible invitees from securing an appointment and may cause vaccines to be wasted.

Caltech strongly encourages all eligible members of the community to seek vaccinations at their earliest point of eligibility. Broad community immunization, along with continued adherence with the Institute's preventative health measures, is important for keeping you, your family, and our community well, and will allow for the resumption of more traditional campus operations.

Please keep the Institute informed of your vaccination status by recording it in the Institute's vaccine attestation tool in the Caltech COVID-19 Reporting Application. The information provided through this tool is essential to the Institute's pandemic planning and response efforts, and a high rate of response is important. If you have not yet recorded your vaccination status, please do so today. We need to hear from you!
