Description:

In this immersive, hands-on workshop, you are invited to experience a unique form of teaching that brings archival materials into the process of learning. Based on activities from the groundbreaking course, H 136: Caltech in the Archives, participants will work together to investigate original materials from the Thomas Hunt Morgan Papers, which bring to light fascinating moments in the history of biology and of Caltech. Discussions will also explore the nature of knowledge, data, and information; how the Humanities can help us grapple with important scientific issues; and ways to adapt this teaching method to other disciplines.
