Caltech Women's Club event: Medicine in Antiquity: What We Have Learned from Archaeology?
Sarah Yeomans is Director of Educational programs at the Biblical Archaeology Society, and recently was awarded the Mayers Followship from the Huntington Library for her research in ancient medical science and technology. This talk will include discussion of discovery of items of protection in ancient tombs, use of herbs still playing an important role in "modern" medicine, and some of the fascinating archeological sites Sarah Yeomans has been fortunate to explore.
