Commercial filming at Caltech
Caltech is not currently accepting requests for commercial filming projects. We do, however, permit news and documentary filming that highlights Caltech—its science, students, faculty, and history.

Caltech is happy to work with documentary crews planning films, television programs, or multimedia projects looking at the work of Caltech faculty, researchers, and students. Documentary projects must be approved, prior to shooting, by the director of media relations. Please contact the Media Relations Office to arrange for parking passes and equipment carts, to schedule interview appointments, and for any other assistance you might need.
Live news shots
Live news shots are welcome so long as the crew is escorted by a member of the Caltech Media Relations team. That team member will provide parking permits and equipment carts, and will notify Caltech security that you are authorized to be on campus. To set up a live shot, please call Media Relations.
Special event photography
Professional photography for weddings and other special events is permitted at Caltech. For details on fees and approvals, please contact Caltech's James Muro at 626.395.4656 or email@example.com.
ISDN Radio Interviews
Caltech maintains an ISDN line for remote radio interviews with any Caltech faculty in the Seismological Laboratory's Media Center (Room 269 of the South Mudd building). For information on how to book an interview on the ISDN line, contact Media Relations.
