Jonas C. Peters: "Making Molecules"
Synthetic chemists spend a lot of time imagining new molecules and figuring out how to make them. While this can be a terrific intellectual game, making molecules can also serve a greater purpose. Dr. Peters will attempt to convey both the inherent fun of molecular synthesis, as well as provide examples of how synthetic chemistry may help us continue to provide food and fuel for the inhabitants of our planet.
Jonas Peters is the Bren Professor of Chemistry at Caltech.
