This is a mandatory class for persons using the Caltech Student Shop. Instruction covers hazards in the shop, personal protective equipment, and safe machine operation.
This course is designed to prepare incoming researchers to work in a laboratory at the Institute. Issues include laboratory organization, emergencies, injuries, general laboratory safety, and more. Space is limited.
Offered as part of New Graduate Student Orientation, TA Training is a required activity for new graduate students. With new information and approaches, it's also valuable for returning TAs.
Caltech Baby Furniture and Household Equipment Loan Pool is open every Thursday morning. Caltech and JPL employees can borrow maternity clothes, cribs, strollers, high chairs, baby swings, and baby bathtubs, as well as useful household items.
All employees and researchers planning to work with radioactive materials or radiation-producing machines must attend an orientation session with one of the health physicist in the EHS Office.
A walking tour of campus will be led by members of the Caltech Architectural Tour Service. Beginning at the Athenaeum, the tour encompasses the historic campus, a selection of buildings from the modern campus, and the newly expanded north campus.
