This basic course discusses the various aspects of fire safety in laboratory and office settings. Topics include: Self-Inspections, Evacuation Procedures, and "Hands-On" Fire Extinguisher Use. High-rise evacuation training is also available.
This course is designed for laser users and provides material on laser classification, appropriate signage, proper personal protective equipment, and safe operation procedures for Class 3b and 4 lasers.
We will be reading from "red lights" , American contemporary tanka journal and other journals. Bring your own poems, and copies for comments. Tanka is a five line lyrical form, it precedes haiku, it means little son.
All employees are researchers planning to work with radiation producing machines must attend an orientation session with one of the health physicist in the EHS Office.
