What is Caltech on iTunes U?
Caltech on iTunes U is a part of Apple’s iTunes U initiative.
“Learn anything, anywhere, anytime” is the iTunes U motto. Public and private colleges and universities around the world have posted material to iTunes U—from admissions videos and lectures to entire courses. If you want to learn something, chances are you’ll find it on iTunes U. Learn more by visiting the iTunes U website.
What will I find at Caltech on iTunes U?
In Caltech’s iTunes U section, you will find a variety of audio and video material representing the Caltech experience, including faculty discussing their work, public lecture series including Watson, Everhart, SURF, and DuBridge, and special events on campus. All the talks from TEDxCaltech as well as videos from the 2011 Distinguished Alumni Awards, commencement, and Ditch Day are available for viewing. There are also cool videos from JPL and the Keck Institute for Space Studies.
How do I access Caltech on iTunes U?
First, make sure you have the most current version of iTunes installed on your Mac or PC computer. To download the application, visit www.apple.com/itunes. Also make sure that you are running the most updated version of your system software.
Once you’re ready, you can go directly to our iTunes U page via the link at itunes.Caltech.edu.
If you are on the Caltech campus, you should be able to install iTunes on your computer. Please contact your local administrator or, if your computer is managed by IMSS, please email the IMSS Help Desk at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Is Caltech's content part of the iTunes Music Store?
Yes! You may now search for and access Caltech content directly in the iTunes Store. Look for Caltech in the “iTunes U” section.
Will I have to pay to access Caltech on iTunes U?
No. You may freely preview and download all of the content from Caltech on iTunes U.
How will I know when something new is added?
You may subscribe to any of our collections by clicking on the "Subscribe Free" button on the collection page. You may also copy the subscription link and paste that URL into your favorite podcast aggregator.
Who manages and creates the content for Caltech on iTunes U?
